Fallbrook Technologies Inc.  Announces OEM Licensing Agreement with Batavus B.V.

– Leading European bicycle manufacturer to build commuter and pleasure bikes using Fallbrook’s NuVinci™ continuously variable planetary (CVP) technology –

(Las Vegas, NV, September 27, 2006) – Fallbrook Technologies Inc. (Fallbrook), a pioneering technology development and intellectual property licensing company, announced today it has entered into an OEM licensing agreement with Batavus Bicycles B.V., one of Europe’s most respected bike designers and manufacturers.

Under the agreement, Batavus will build commuter and pleasure bikes with Fallbrook’s NuVinci continuously variable planetary (CVP) drivetrain. Specific models will be offered at both mid-range and upper-level price points, and will be marketed both in Europe and in the U.S. Batavus will purchase NuVinci CVPs from Aftermarket Technology Corp. (ATC) (NASDAQ: ATAC), a licensed Fallbrook manufacturer.

NuVinci technology is a new class of highly adaptable and scalable continuously variable transmissions (CVTs). It promises to be the most practical and economical CVT for both human-powered and motor-powered vehicles and machines. The NuVinci CVP is applicable to virtually any product that uses a transmission, including bicycles, light electric vehicles, agricultural equipment, automobiles, and utility-class wind turbines, among others. Since early 2005, Batavus and Fallbrook have been working together on the research and development of the NuVinci CVP for use by Batavus.

Batavus is one of the leading Dutch bicycle brands. Batavus has been a pioneer in building bicycles and bicycle equipment for over 100 years. It offers a complete line of commuter, pleasure and roadster bikes to riders across Europe. Batavus is part of the Accell Group, among the largest companies serving the European bike market. In 2006, the Accell Group moved into the US market with its purchase of Seattle Bike Supply, a regional supplier of bicycles, bicycle parts and accessories.

The NuVinci CVP is a CVT that also functions as a planetary gear set. It typically has a central idler surrounded by a set of balls. The rotatable input and output discs are arranged on either side of the idler and the balls. Tilting the axes of the balls in relation to the idler changes their contact diameters with the input and output discs, which in turn varies the transmission ratio.

Batavus bikes featuring the NuVinci CVP will be available in Europe in Q1 2007.

ATC is the largest independent drivetrain remanufacturer in the world. As part of its growth and diversification strategy, ATC is now leveraging its extensive remanufacturing, engineering and supply chain management expertise into the transmission manufacturing arena. ATC has selected NuVinci technology as the basis for this strategy. The Batavus agreement is ATC’s third OEM manufacturing agreement for delivering products based on NuVinci technology.
